Gunnar is 8 Months!

My baby boy turned eight months old on Monday! Time please stop, time please stop, time please stop...........

The refluxing, non-sleeping, crying all day infant has turned into the sweetest, happiest, smiliest baby! Gunnar is such a sweet, sweet baby. He still doesn't like to be left alone for any amount of time, but he will sit and watch people if something is going on around him-and at our house, something is always going on! He loves to sit outside in his walker and watch everything.

Weight: 20.2 lbs (according to my scales at home)

Clothes: 12 months-I'm so sad to be putting away so many outfits that are just not long enough anymore.

Diapers: Size 3

Teeth: 2 bottom front teeth

Sleeping: I think we might have turned a corner this last week (fingers crossed). We moved him into his big crib and he seems to be sleeping better. The past five or six days, he goes to bed between 8-9 and only wakes up once about 3 or 4 and twice at most. He actually sleeps till about 6am and then will take a bottle and sleep an hour or two more sometimes. I hope this is a pattern that continues around here. Sleep does wonders for tired mommas......

Naps: a short morning one around 10 and usually a pretty long afternoon one about 3. Sometimes, though, it' just one right in the middle of the day. Depends on his mood and how he slept the night before.

Food: apples, blueberries, mango's, prunes, plums, pears, peaches, avocados, green beans, sweet potatoes, oatmeal, plain yogurt, green beans, zucchini, yellow squash, cauliflower, pumpkin, butternut squash, carrots, boiled egg yolks(hated them). He really is into taking bites of things lately instead of actual baby food. He is doing a pretty good job of picking things up and putting them up to his mouth! Some things I have cut up for him to pick up are: baked potato, strawberry, watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe, broccoli, cheese, grilled cheese, bread, brown rice, Cheerio halves, puffs, bananas, crackers. One funny thing is that he hasn't been a big fan of bananas, although I keep giving them to him. Yesterday morning I cut them into chunks and he chowed down on them! I would say he really loves zucchini, pears, avocados, & mango still the best.

New chompers! He likes to put my chin in his mouth and bite it! He thinks that is funny. He really loves using his sippy cup and dumps water all over himself. He is also starting to notice Sonic drinks and wants to drink out of people's straws, but he doesn't know how to suck the liquid out. Nana gives him little pieces of ice and he LOVES that!

Favorites: He is starting to love to play with balls. We have this cheap, little bitty blow-up beach ball from church and he just holds onto it! Loves to swim and play in water. Likes toys that play music & light up. He also likes this little squeaky monkey toy. He loves to pick up gravel. Every morning he watches Jake & the Neverland Pirates and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse when we get ready. He loves his brother and sister-they make his day!

Here's proof that he does have hair-you just cannot see it in photos! Ha!!! It's actually more blond that dark, but not as light as Slade's was.

And this dude is about the take off crawling! He gets up onto all fours, thinks about it, and sit back down. I expect any day now, our world is about to change. I'm in no hurry to pick up EVERYTHING in sight so he doesn't eat things off the floor!!!!

Other things: He says Mamamamama. He's very ticklish. He loves any toys in the kid's rooms. He attempts to hold his bottle, but we still need some work. Loves to be carried around everywhere. Will try to mimic you if you clap, mouth words, or click your lips. And he loves my car keys and cries when I take them from him when I have to start the car!
