The Boys of Summer

 Bob, Ben, & Slade
These three decided to play baseball this summer.....for the first time EVER!!! And so began our summer of Pirate Baseball! They had a blast, actually. About 7 from their grade played on the same team. They had lots of folks to visit with (we are missing Payton, Hudson, & Lincoln). I'm not sure that there was three years total of baseball experience between the 7 of them! LOL! And Ben's dad is the Texas Tech baseball coach, which is funny in itself. Ben's game has been basketball from what I understand. Don't worry, though, Ben seems to be quite a little baseball player it seems! We had some home runs from all of the boys. Another fun fact-their coach took my bridal photos, once upon a time. So weird, right?!?

Pirates Forever...........or for two months this summer at least.

San Antonio Wedding

We were able to escape to San Antonio the weekend of June 22nd for Kyle's friend, Russ' wedding. I wasn't too jazzed to go because it was alot of work getting everyone packed, shopping for clothes, etc. But I am soooooo glad I ended up going. We really had a great time. We dropped the kids off at the ranch and hit the Interstate to San Antonio.

Kyle's brother and his wife and us right before the wedding. Kyle was the best man. The wedding was at La Cantera, the golf resort, and it was beautiful. We stayed three nights which means I got three days of nobody needing me!!!

Russ and Kyle at the rehearsal dinner. They played a slide show that had some sweet pics of Kyle and Russ when they were little boys.

 The groom and best man.

This is where the reception was held.

Russ, Ken, Kyle at one of the golf days.

The view from our room-we had 2 balconies!!!

 The bride and groom.

 Me at the rehearsal dinner.

A Bunch of Morton, TX wild men. Ken, John, Russ, Kyle.

Russ' daughter, London-she was a flower girl.

The lemon centerpieces were neat. All these photos are phone photos because I forgot my camera. The colors were black, white, and touches of yellow.

 Kyle and the bride, Emily

This was at the rehearsal dinner-a blessing tree. You could write them a sweet note on the card and hang it on the tree. I loved this!

 Candy bar

Kyle swimming in one of the 8 pools! It was so pretty. The night of the wedding, we danced till midnight and then went back to the pool and swam and visited till 2 am! The pools were open all night. We had the best time! I got to go shopping. We ate at some fav places. I was so glad I ended up going and it was a great break from my kiddos. It was one of the best weddings I've been to. When we got back to pick up the kids at the ranch, I walked through the door and Gunnar started crying! He didn't want to leave Cita's house! LOL! Evidently everyone had a great time!!!

Happy 7th Birthday, Finley!!!

My one and only gal turned SEVEN on Saturday!

We started out on Friday night, letting her open her presents from us after Slade's baseball game and dinner. Cita and Nana were here to help us celebrate!

She looks so old in this pic! Sniff, sniff!

We also ate Finley's chocolate cake, made by Nana in the traditional mini cake pan. I guess the pic is on my phone.

Somebody was really enjoying the festivities!

Saturday morning, Finny awoke to lots of balloons.......

 And someone was a grump.

She was tired and needed more beauty sleep, I guess.

G man was confused for a minute.

And then he wents nuts and decided he loved the balloons! Today he has them all gathered in his room!

Finley's chocolate doughnut breakfast. We all got ready and headed to Art & Company. Her party was 10-12.

When we arrived, all the canvases were set up and waiting for some girls to have fun!!!

Cita, Fin, & Nana waiting on the guests.

Ms. Kim, the art teacher, wrote Finley's name on the board.

Everyone could use markers and crayons till all the guests arrived.

 And then the fun began........

Finley picked a cute zebra purse. Each girl got to pick her background color.

I just love this photo. She's an artist, hard at work!!!

The teacher was so great with the little artist.

Slade drew for a little while.

Even Gunnar was able to create a masterpiece!

Then they stopped and took a cupcake birthday break.

 Finley's beautiful cupcake palette!

Her plates worked perfectly with her purse canvas.

Just an FYI, seven candles might be too many candles for one cupcake.

 Sweet birthday girl.

 The gangs all here.

 And back to painting.

Then we had a present opening break. Finley received all things art related and was very pleased with her loot.
After some finishing touches with Ms. Kim's glue gun, the art was complete. The birthday group....Kariden, Avery, Kendall, Finley, Camille, Lucy, Sarah, Campbell, Gunnar, & Rachel. Emma left early for a game.

I think she was happy. It was a fantastic party!

 Finley, 7 years old!

I sure am glad I had a girl!
