Ten Years

Ten years ago today, I married a handsome young man!
Our wedding was really fun! I loved it! I wish I could have the exact same day again.

And ten years, three kids later.......

I think I might like him more than the day we married. Yep, I'm sure of it! A lot has changed these last ten years. Some things have not-one being that I still am not technically advanced or I could have hooked up my printer and scanned my wedding photos instead of taking pictures of the photos in frames that hang on my wall...............Some things never change.

Ruidoso June 2011

We escaped to the cabins last weekend and it was nice! Brandi's family went with us and we did a whole lot of nothing!

It was definitely warmer than usual but we still had to wear a little jacket in the mornings. After 107 in Lubbock, it felt like a blizzard, haha!

The river was the lowest I had ever seen it since I've been going to Ramma's, but the kids still had an absolute ball! And the water was chilly.

Breakfast at our fav, Lincoln County Grill!!! So yummy!!!

Gunnar was way into the gravel. And what is weird about it was that he never tried to eat it!

Still lovin' the gravel.

I think the most exciting part of the trip was most definitely the snake hunt!

Slade spotted the water snake in the river and it went under a rock. We watched for it for some time. It actually charged at a fish twice-it was crazy!

Then Brandi and Slade got a shovel and killed it!

Gunnar had his bath in the kitchen sink.

And tradition of Kyle's family is to go to The Thunderbird to basically pick out "junk". It's lots of fun and the kids are always so excited to go. Fin and Campbell picked out crowns and Slade bought crystals.

Gunnar's first "Pump Picture". So sweet.

Family pic. No makeup on me nor did we fix Finley's hair. We were relaxing, as you can tell.

On Sunday morning, we woke up to three elk wandering along the riverbed. They were HUGE!!!

The Beeler Fam

We took lots of naps.

I had to post a pic of Finley not smiling for me. I hope to show this at her wedding one day. Attitude, pure attitude.

Slade made two friends. They ventured down the river.

We had a nice, long weekend. Can't wait to go back. Hopefully, it will RAIN next time!!!

New Mexico

Spent three days at Ramma's Cabins in Ruidoso. Learned several things.........88 degrees feels cool, drought ridden rivers are still fun, and nobody really cares if I wear makeup. More pics soon to follow!!!

P.S. Happy Birthday, Edward Cullen. Sorry, just had to get that out.

Innovation

I really am too tired to write, but honestly I'm sick of looking at shrimp scampi so here's some fun pics.

This is what I like to call the "Poor Man's Waterpark"! HA!!! Slade hooked the waterhose up inside the playhouse so that the water would run down the slide. He and Finley would slide down into the grass. Resourceful, yes. And it's so so so so so HOT here! UUUGGGG!

And all Little Bit needed was a pink hospital dishpan!

He had a ball splashing. He laughed. He frowned. He concentrated.

And when he started to shiver, we wrapped him up like a burrito and he warmed up in about 1 minute!!!

Shrimp Scampi & Wraps

I have a really picky bunch of eaters (KYLE SMART), which is unfortunate since I love to cook. I always want to try recipes, but don't many times because nobody in my family will try anything new. I get really mad about it, but that's a whole other post. Basically, they are very boring with what they eat and I get so tired of cooking the same thing every.single.week. I found this recipe when I was checking Pioneer Woman's blog and thought that it had really basic ingredients. Could my picky bunch might possibly like it???

And to my surprise-----two out of three loved it(Kyle, yes, Slade, yes, Finley, no)! It is Shrimp Scampi. It was easy. It was soooo good! And I would link it to you, but I haven't figured out how to double click on my notebook because there's only one little clicky thing on here, not two. Help someone. Anyways you can find it on her blog. I did leave out the Tabasco and didn't have the herbs to put on top and I used tail-less shrimp. If you like shrimp, you will really like this. I would have liked to have made it with whole wheat or multigrain angel hair pasta, but that might have pushed my bunch over the edge. Kyle really liked the angel hair pasta-he had never tried angel hair. I was like, yeah, it's really a big jump from regular. Sorry you waited 33 years to taste another pasta in a different shape.....(as I roll my eyes...)

This is my favorite turkey wrap! I love cool, light sandwiches in the summer. I came up with this and have had it three times for lunch with fruit this week. All it is......

Temps Rising!

Seeing that it's 200 degrees here and we haven't had a drop of rain since last July it seems, we decided to go for a swim yesterday afternoon.

And G got brand new swim trunks from his cousins, The Brownlows! Not to mention, a really cute shark towel, as well.

Slade & I picked him up a new hat on Tuesday because his giant head won't fit into the handmedown one. Nothing like a big head full of brains! And just so you know, Finley and myself look EXACTLY alike when we both have on our pink bikinis...........

BBQ Cupcakes!

Aunt Brandi and the girl's creation this past weekend-BBQ cupcakes! Nope, not BBQ flavored, just decorated with candy as the BBQ grill.

They were lots of help.......I think?

Steak on the grill!

Kabobs-my personal favorite.

And who doesn't love hot dogs on the grill!

Gunnar - 7 Months!

My sweet baby boy turned seven months old on the 27th! Wow, how time flies! Don't I say that every month?!? You know you've heard the saying, "If you blink-you'll miss it"-well, that's exactly how I feel. He is growing so fast and I cannot stop the clock. Makes me sad. Makes me tear up. Makes me want to soak up every fat little finger, blonde fuzzy hair, and chubby little body. Goodness, I could eat him up!

First of all, can we discuss the degree of cuteness this little fat body possesses?!? That is one cute chunk! And he loves to put those two fingers in his mouth.

He will finally take a shower without screaming the entire time, but prefers to soak in the tub. He loves to splash the water around and hold the cup that I wash his hair with.

Oh, he LOVES his sippy cup of water. Can't figure out how to get it in his mouth but loves to spill water everywhere. He also wants me to give him water through a straw. He gets furious when I stop to put the straw away. He is still eating breakfast and dinner. So far he has had.......brown rice, oatmeal, avocado, apples, blueberries, pears, bananas, peaches, mango's, plums, prunes, pumpkin, green beans, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, zucchini, peas, & carrots. He has also had a bite of our strawberries, baked potato, toast, & whip cream. I would say his favs are avocado, zucchini, mango's, pears, & peach oatmeal.

The weekend he turned seven months, he had his first swim at the ranch! Just like his siblings, he took to the water like a little fish. He loved it and smiled the entire time he was in the water.
7 Month Stats...

Diapers - size 3 Pampers Sensitive Swaddlers
Clothes - 9 -12 mo, 12 mo, 12-18 mo
Weight - about 18.8 lbs and getting longer because he's growing out of his sleepers
Sleep - short morning nap, 3 o'clock nap, and still wakes up ALL NIGHT LONG.
Favs - splashing in water, drinking out of his sippy cup, being outdoors, pulling Bella's fur, sitting in his walker, being held, grabbing anything in sight, and tearing up and eating paper.
Highlights - First TOOTH!!! came in the end of May and it's on his bottom right, he is sitting up really well without tipping over too much, clicking his lips, baby talking, jumps in his super saucer. He sat in the grass and played with gravel for the first time, too. He wanted to put rocks in to his mouth soooo bad!!!

Sure likes his Nana to hold him. He also loves to play with anything that isn't a toy. Lids, bowls, spoons, containers, bracelets, paper, cords, keys, phones, etc.

He never gets any attention?!? LOL! Oh, and he's starting to reach for me! I love that so much! When people talk to him, he smiles really big and then turns and rests it on my shoulder like he's embarrassed. It's so cute!

Geez, mom! Quit putting that camera right in my face before warning me!!! And you can't tell by the pic, but the eyes are still hanging in there a blue-ish grey hue. I'm crossing my fingers they stay along with the blonde chick fuzz hair!
